Pete Wicks, the charismatic Strictly star and devoted  dog dad, has found himself at the centre of social media chatter after a follower expressed concern over his French Bulldog Ericâs weight. The comment sparked a flurry of fan support defending Peteâs care and love for his furry family.
The influencer, who also owns Rodney, a rescue Rottweiler, shared a stream of Instagram photos highlighting his life with his pups, including playful moments and behind-the-scenes glimpses from his live podcast tour, Staying Relevant. One photo, however, triggered concern from a follower who worried: âBeautiful babies ones terribly overweight⊠hopefully isnât through overfeeding, thank you for doing what you do for our precious fur babies.â
Fans quickly rallied to Peteâs defence, clarifying that Ericâs health and age restrict his mobility rather than any negligence. One supporter wrote: âThatâs Eric! Heâs got health issues & is very old! Pete definitely looks after him!â Pete responded with a emoji, appreciating the support.
But the good news doesnât end there. Pete also confirmed that his popular dog rescue series, Pete Wicks: For  Dogsâ Sake, is returning for a brand new fourth season. Filmed across the UK alongside Dogs Trust, the series promises heartfelt rescue stories, emotional reunions, and the real heroes behind dog rehabilitation.
âItâs official â we are back! Series 4 of Pete Wicks: For Dogsâ Sake is underway. And I think itâs gonna be the best series yet!â Pete teased on Instagram. âI am so blessed to be able to work alongside @dogstrust in the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of  dogs in need. This is all Iâve ever wanted to do.â
Fans are already counting down the days to see Pete in action again, proving once more that his heart for animals is as big as his personality.Â
