Coronation Streetâs Tyrone Dobbs is unexpectedly drawn into Theo Silvertonâs murder investigation tonight â but heâs certainly no friend to prime suspect Summer Spellman.
As Summer faces a grilling down at the police station over her movements on the night of Theoâs death, she suddenly names Tyrone as someone who can back up her story.
A pillar of the community and all-round nice guy, Tyrone is definitely someone youâd want in your corner if you needed a reliable alibi. The only problem is, he and Summer have very different versions of eventsâŠ
Summer has been arrested after George Shuttleworth revealed that he saw her rushing from Theo and Todd Grimshawâs flat around the time of the murder.
Other evidence is also counting against Summer, including the brooch she was wearing for Carla and Lisa Connor-Swainâs wedding reception â which was later found covered in blood.
Giving her version of events tonight, Summer explains: âIâd gone round to see Todd, but Theo was the only one there. He was acting psychotic, threatening me. I was scared.
âI didnât kill him. As soon as he let go of me, I ran out of there â I got out as fast as I could. I saw my phone on the floor smashed and then Tyrone saw me â and he saw Theo in the window, I saw him look up. He can tell you that when I left the flat, Theo was still alive.â
A new flashback scene appears to show that Summer is telling the truth about what happened. But when DS Connor-Swain heads to see Tyrone to verify Summerâs story, he shiftily denies everything.
Confronted over this later on, Summer protests that Tyrone is lying. But as sheâs charged with murder and likely to be held on remand, it doesnât look like sheâll find out the reason for Tyroneâs deception any time soonâŠ
Just when we thought this saga couldnât get any more complicated!
