The Truth Behind Joy Behar’s Absence From The View Has Finally Been Revealed — And The News About Her Return Is Leaving Many Viewers Heartbroken

JOY Behar has revealed that she will be stepping away from The View and taking an extended hiatus from the show.

Behar, 83, said she would be taking a break, which may come as a shock to regular viewers of the show she has regularly hosted it since its inception in 1997.

So, why exactly is she choosing to step back from presenting duties and who will be replacing her?

Why is Joy Behar not on The View?

In a chat with the show’s producer, Brian Teta, on Tuesday, Behar revealed that she will be travelling to Europe.

This is so that she can perform her stage play, My First Ex-Husband, following its successful launch in New York City.

This will contain dates in both Paris and London, including a run at the Boulevard Theatre in the West End.

Speaking on The View’s podcast, Behind The Table, Behar said: “I fly to Paris this week, and then I go take the Chunnel to London after a week, and I’ll be in London a second week doing my play, My First Ex-Husband, at the Boulevard Theatre in the West End,”

“We have Jackie Hoffman and I [playing] the two American women talking, then we have two British actresses. Doesn’t that sound like fun?”

Who is replacing Joy Behar on The View?

On the same podcast, Teta also revealed who will be covering for Behar during her absence.

He shared that Sheryl Underwood, will join The View for two days.

It will also mean that Whoopi Goldberg’s regular slot will be switched to Fridays.

While Joy’s return date has yet to be announced, she is expected to resume her hosting duties sometime in mid-June.
