Vicky Pattison has opened up about the ups and downs of her Strictly Come Dancing experience, following her departure with partner Kai Widdrington last month. The 38-year-old became the seventh contestant to leave the show after the judges chose to save EastEnders actress Balvinder Sopal over her in the dance-off.

Vicky’s departure followed an energetic Jive performance to Girls Aloud’s Sound of the Underground, which resulted in a score of 27 points out of a possible 40. Reflecting on her Strictly journey with her friend Pete Wicks, who participated on the show last year, Vicky candidly discussed her difficulties with the routine.

“Listen, call a spade a spade, the Jive was not my f*****g dance, I will forever hate that p***k,” she said on the Staying Relevant podcast.

After Pete revealed that his dance partner Jowita Przystał stopped him from doing the Jive, Vicky joked that she wished Kai had done the same with her.Vicky was the seventh star to be eliminated

“Maybe he just had a bit more faith in us,” she added. “I am actually quite a bouncy person, so I think people would assume I really had the Jive in me like that, but I don’t think anyone anticipated me as being like a dignified ballroom girl, but I really took to ballroom and loved it.”
