Self-proclaimed style maven steps out in double-denim shorts, flip-flops and a scarf that looks like it lost a fight with a polo mallet — and social media is not holding back

In a moment that has sent royal watchers and  fashion critics into a collective meltdown, a fresh photo of Meghan Markle has exploded across social media, directly contradicting her long-running claim that “people associate me with fashion and beauty.”

The image, now circulating widely, shows the Duchess of Sussex standing beside a gleaming white luxury SUV on a grassy polo field or country club setting. She’s wearing a matching blue chambray denim short-sleeve shirt and high-waisted denim shorts, accessorized with a black knitted scarf draped around her neck, oversized black sunglasses, and simple brown flip-flops. One hand rests near her chin in what appears to be a carefully curated “thoughtful pose,” while a polo mallet lies discarded on the grass nearby.

The look is pure California casual — or at least that seems to have been the intention. To much of the internet, however, it reads as a masterclass in what not to do.
