Paramount+ just renewed the record-breaking ‘Yellowstone’ spinoff—here’s what’s coming next

Taylor Sheridan fans, we have some exciting news! Paramount+ has finally renewed the hit Yellowstone spinoff, Dutton Ranch, for a Season 2, and we can’t wait! After all, who doesn’t want to see more of Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser)? Below, we share everything we know so far about Dutton Ranch Season 2, including who could—and couldn’t—return for it.

What we know so far about ‘Dutton Ranch’ Season 2
Today, Paramount+ announced the renewal of Dutton Ranch for a second season. The news wasn’t that shocking, since the premiere alone garnered 1.85 million views, but it was a relief to many fans, since the network had remained tight-lipped about renewal plans up until this point.
Following the premiere of the show back in April, it quickly gained popularity. In the first week alone, Dutton Ranch got 12.9 million viewers globally, making it the biggest original series launch in Paramount+ history. Previously, Sheridan’s other neo-Western drama The Madison, which premiered in March, held that record, getting around 8 million viewers in its first 10 days.

Dutton Ranch also delivered 2.9 million viewers during its debut on the Paramount Network, making it the biggest series premiere on cable since 2023.
“Dutton Ranch has resonated with audiences in a powerful way, building on the legacy of beloved characters, while establishing its own identity,” Matt Thunell, President of Paramount Television Studios, said in a statement. “Thank you to our partners at Paramount+ and 101 Studios for a phenomenal first season. We look forward to bringing fans more stories from these unforgettable characters in Season 2.”
As of publication, the plot of Dutton Ranch Season 2 does remain a mystery, but we expect the second installment will continue to follow Beth and Rip making their way through life in Rio Paloma, Texas.
Who will be in ‘Dutton Ranch’ Season 2?
Since Dutton Ranch centers around Beth and Rip, it’s safe to assume that Reilly and Hauser will be in Season 2. It’s also safe to assume that Finn Little, Ed Harris, Berto Colón, Jai Courtney, Natalie Alyn Lind, Marc Menchaca, Juan Pablo Raba and J.R. Villarreal will return, based on how Season 1 is shaking out.
One person who might not return? Annette Bening. In the most recent episode of the show, Bening’s character Beulah Jackson suffered a medical emergency and it looked as if she might die. The episode ended with her passing out, leaving many, including Raba, who plays her on-screen son, to wonder if she was killed off.
“There’s so much story to tell right here,” he teased to our sister site Us Weekly. “But with that being said, I know the same thing you do.”
When will ‘Dutton Ranch’ Season 2 be released?
Dutton Ranch Season 2 doesn’t have a release date, but it’s currently in pre-production, meaning we could get it sooner rather than later.
