A Celebrity Gogglebox star was forced to step away from the camera after a spine-chilling horror film left the cast shrieking in terror. The episode of the Channel 4 programme, which aired on Friday (July 3), saw the celebrity sofa critics casting their eyes over a variety of shows, ranging from Countdown to Clarkson’s Farm. However, many appeared visibly shaken when they tuned into the horror film Weapons, reports the Mirror.

The film centres on 17 children from the same classroom who vanish without trace on the same night at the same time. Jordan Banjo even had to stp away for a moment after watching scenes from the film alongside fellow Diversity performer Perri Kiely.

Several of the celebrities on the show looked scared while watching a scene featuring an unsettling character named Aunt Gladys (played by Amy Madigan), who visited a house and requested a bowl rather than a glass of water. Matters took a deeply disturbing turn when she took a wooden stick she had been toying with and dragged it across her hand, slicing it open, which left Jordan looking utterly horrified.

He raised a cushion to shield himself from the screen as a man in the film was then shown opening his mouth and vomiting streams of black liquid.

“I need a break, I need a break,” Jordan declared, as Perri exclaimed: “No!”

The dancer then rose to his feet and retreated from the sofa, explaining: “I need a drink. Do you want anything?”

However, he quickly returned, telling Perri that upon reaching the kitchen he had noticed a bowl of water on the counter which had startled him. “No!” he exclaimed, settling back down without having fetched the drinks.

Viewers were amused by the moment, with one sharing on X: “So funny.”

Another user commented on the platform, formerly known as Twitter: “Who doesn’t just love a bit of Celebrity Gogglebox. Always such an entertaining way to spend the time.”
