Key Points

  • ‘The Madison’ premiered in March to rave reviews from fans.
  • The Taylor Sheridan series has already been greenlit for a second season.
  • Despite its success, the show received no Emmy nominations.

In the shock of a lifetime (okay, the year), the official 2026 Emmy nominees were announced on Wednesday, July 8, and nary a nom was listed for The Madison—and fans have some thoughts.

As a refresher, The Madison is Taylor Sheridan’s most off-the-beaten-path production of recent years, with a storyline rooted in grief, healing, and the well of emotions that accompany both. Many found the 6-episode series to be nothing short of a breath of fresh air from Taylor’s other macho (albeit undeniably beloved) series, like Yellowstone and Landman, not to mention some of Michelle Pfeiffer’s best work. In the series, she plays Stacy Clyburn: the sudden widow of Preston Clyburn and the mother of three children and two grandchildren who now have to conceptualize life without their family patriarch.

To say Michelle’s portrayal of a grieving widow was riveting is an understatement. Because of this, fans can’t believe she didn’t snag a single Emmy nom. To make up for it, they’re flooding the show’s official Instagram with high praise for her, the storyline, and the cast as a whole.

“This show was brilliant. As was all the cast, but @michellepfeifferofficial was sensational,” one fan commented on Instagram. “I loved this show, the performances were stellar and the writing superb. I was mesmerized by the scenery also,” another fan remarked. “Best thing that he has done so far and I like all of Taylor Sheridan’s shows,” someone else stated.

The Madison wasn’t the only Taylor Sheridan series to get snubbed. Landman and Marshals were also overlooked by nominators, and Dutton Ranch wasn’t yet eligible. Emmy Analysts at Gold Derby believe it’s due to the pending merger with Warner Bros. “While Academy members may not be able to vote against the deal, they can register their disapproval by failing to nominate the shows associated with the network,” they reported.

Nominations or not, the overwhelming fan consensus is that The Madison is one of the most compelling series to come out of 2026. Maybe it will have better nomination odds when the second season premieres.
