A terrifying moment has been captured on film after a man fell off a 40-metre cliff while on his phone in China.
A group of hikers were climbing their way through Huaying Mountain, in Guang’an, when a man attempted to take a simple selfie.
He looked down and steadied his balance – before suddenly losing his footing.
The man was sent falling into the trees as fellow hikers gasped in horror, fearing he had died.

Miraculously, the hiker survived the fall despite the plunge being about 15 metres, according to local reports.
The man later stunningly took to social media to confirm he had survived.
The Sun reported the man wrote on Chinese social media app WeChat he was “blessed”.
“The mountain Gods blessed me. I’m so lucky. I fell from a 40m high cliff and rolled down the slope for nearly 15 metres,” he said.
“When the rocks collapsed, I thought I was going to die. It’s so good to be alive. So I’ll live well!”
The incident reportedly happened at a tourist aread known as Blade Rock.
Social media users have since reacted to the man’s lucky survival.
“Why take such risk??? Too dangerous. Safety always come first!!!” one said.
“People risk their lives so much for adventures,” another added.
“Thank God he’s alive,” a third said.
While a fourth person jokingly asked: “Did they find the iPhone, is it okay?”
