The menacing dealer Ray, played by Joe Absolom, made his first appearance on the ITV soap this year and quickly stirred up trouble in the village.

As avid viewers are aware, he has ensnared young April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) and Dylan Penders (Fred Kettle) in the shady world of drug dealing.

Initially, it was only Dylan who was working for the dangerous Ray. However, before long, April was drawn into the illicit trade and began doing jobs for Ray after he decided she could be of use.

Despite their desire to escape the criminal activities, April and Dylan find themselves trapped, continuing to work for Ray to settle their ‘debt’. In truth, there is no debt as the crafty and malevolent Ray has been deceiving the youngsters, reports the Daily Star.

The plot took a shocking twist when it was revealed that the boss pulling the strings is Celia Daniels (Jaye Griffiths), who is Ray’s mum. This week, however, April and Dylan decided to make a dash with some of Ray’s money.

In Wednesday’s episode (October 29), Ray discovered their plan and coerced the pair into returning. If they didn’t comply, he threatened to harm April’s family, including her brother Leo (Harvey Rogerson).

Ray soon arrived to collect April and Dylan, but only allowed Dylan into his car. April tried to confront Ray, but he quickly shut her down.

He then threatened her, saying that if she wanted Dylan to be safe, she must do whatever her client asks the next day, which she agreed to.

However, with Ray set to stir up more trouble, fans are predicting the return of a soap legend to bring him down. On an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, one viewer wrote: “This Ray story is doing my head in! Someone just kill him already.”

Another fan speculated about the return of Scott Windsor (Ben Freeman), commenting: “Scott Windsor return to do it?” A third added: “Be good if Scott returned as he still has history with loads of people.”

Scott is the brother of April’s late mother, Donna Windsor (Verity Rushworth), making him April’s uncle. He was last seen on the soap in 2007 – but his name has come up several times since.
