His family and school have both shared touching tributes after the tragic discovery

THE family of a missing school teacher have said they are “totally heartbroken” following the discovery of his body.
Gardai called off the search for Seamus Quinn, 63, yesterday evening after the tragic find.
The family added that they are “totally heartbroken”.
Tributes have poured in for Quinn, who was reported missing in Derry on October 21.
Loreto Secondary School in Letterkenny, where Quinn taught, shared a moving tribute.

They said Quinn had been a “dedicated” teacher who brought “fun” to the classroom.
The school shared that many students have “fond memories” of his Halloween outfits and his “unforgettable” performances during the Christmas carol service.
The school said: “Seamus was an exceptional teacher and a really supportive colleague to all.
“He was a man who had time for everyone and will be dearly missed. He leaves behind a legacy of academic excellence and kindness.”
Newell Academy, a community sports club in Derry where Quinn was a committee member, said they were “deeply saddened” by his passing.
They said in a social media post: “Seamus was one of life’s true gentlemen a man who always had a kind word, a warm smile, and time for everyone.
“His dedication to the club and to the young people involved over the years was remarkable.
“He played an important part in helping shape the community spirit that still runs through Newell Academy today.”
The post added that the “outpouring of love” since Quinn went missing showed “just how deeply he was loved”.

Hundreds of have people have rushed to share their condolences after Quinn’s passing.
One person shared how her daughter “always spoke highly of him.
“All I would hear about from her was Mr Quinn this, Mr Quinn that. She just adored him.”

Another said: “Seamus taught my daughter to JC. I met him every year at parent teacher meetings.
“He was such a lovely gentleman. He was such a kind and caring teacher.”
