The peace lily is without a doubt one of the most popular houseplants . Its elegant and harmonious aesthetics give a special, inimitable touch to our living walls. It is characterized by majestic green leaves and delicate white flowers and goes well with any type of furniture and style choice. If we choose this flower, we don’t risk making a mistake.
The peace lily, like all other flowers, requires simple but specific care. Sometimes it is not enough to care for it with water and sun: you have to resort to other solutions to make it long-lasting and luxuriant. Let’s now see together all the basic treatments that must be applied, as well as a specific method that few know to make it last.
Peace Lily: How to care for it without making mistakes
As for the sun, the peace lily loves sunlight, but not direct sunlight. It should never be exposed to direct sunlight: it could be fatal. The best solution is to place it in a well-lit place, near a window, without the rays hitting it. Watering must be very light and gentle, never containing too much water . The result could, paradoxically, be a drying out of the leaves. The soil should never be completely soaked with water, but only slightly moist. Waterlogging is not good for the lily. In winter, the water dose should be further reduced, in summer, increased.

The peace lily grows best in humid places. Air that is too dry could damage it. The solution is to buy a humidifier to make the air in your home more humid. In addition, the ideal temperature for the lily is 20 to 25 degrees. A trick for the yield of our lily is to clean its leaves from time to time. Now let’s see the secret method that will keep it preserved for years.
Make sure it lasts for many years to come
If you like your peace lily, don’t be afraid – there is a way to make it last much longer. You don’t have to buy expensive fertilizers in hard-to-find stores – all you need is an ingredient you already have at home. Sometimes the best solution is always at hand and it’s the one we never thought of. The miraculous ingredient is a spice that we all have at home and that is great for preparing desserts and exquisite dishes: cinnamon.
Cinnamon, against all odds, is full of nutrients that are life-saving for the peace lily. Phosphorus, potassium, calcium, iron, magnesium, sodium and zinc : all essential and necessary components for the life of our flower. You don’t have to top up your potting soil with expensive chemical fertilizers.

The most correct way to use cinnamon is to dilute a large spoonful in about half a liter of water. Mix well: the ground cinnamon must dissolve in the water. Now we only have to use this solution of water and cinnamon to water our peace lilies. In a short time they will become stronger, more beautiful and healthier.
