Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk was killed while delivering a speech on Wednesday, with President Donald Trump announcing his death on Truth Social
Karoline Leavitt has revealed that Charlie Kirk was “one of the first people to believe in me” as she honored him following his passing on Wednesday.
The conservative leader died while giving a speech for Turning Point USA, with his death being announced by President Donald Trump on Truth Social. Karoline has now turned to Instagram to discuss her bond with Kirk.
“When I ran for Congress at 23 years old, Charlie Kirk was one of the first people to believe in me and endorse my grassroots campaign,” Leavitt started as she posted a photo of herself seated beside Kirk, who has also been remembered by figures like Kai Trump. Leavitt went on, “That’s because Charlie Kirk believed in the potential and promise of young people across our country, and he inspired millions of them to get involved in politics and fight for our nation’s conservative values.” Meanwhile, South Park critics have demanded that the show be ‘cancelled’ after Charlie Kirk’s death.
The White House Press Secretary declared Kirk “positively changed the course of American history,” noting that “his legacy will live on.”
She added, “I am praying that God covers Charlie’s wife, Erika, and their two beautiful children in His love.
“I pray they are comforted knowing Charlie is in Heaven with the Lord. “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.
” John 11:25-26.”
Wrapping up her message, Leavitt wrote, “Rest in Peace.”
The mother-of-one received acclaim from supporters in the comments for her homage to Kirk. “Beautiful Karoline. God Bless,” one individual penned, while another expressed, “Heartbreaking loss. Sending love.”
A third follower chimed in with, “Solidarity and praying.”
President Trump broke the news of Kirk’s passing on social media, stating, “The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie.
“He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!”.
In a subsequent post, the President declared, “In honor of Charlie Kirk, a truly Great American Patriot, I am ordering all American Flags throughout the United States lowered to Half Mast until Sunday evening at 6 P.M.”
