France star Kylian Mbappe appears to have been bemused by the way in which Spain received their penalty in the 2026 FIFA World Cup semifinal.
La Roja took the 1-0 lead in the 22nd minute through Mikel Oyarzabal’s penalty, after Lamine Yamal won it.
Yamal was seemingly fouled by Lucas Digne, who mistimed a clearance attempt and ended up striking the winger.
Mbappe, however, was convinced that there was not enough in the duel to surmount for a penalty.
The Real Madrid star could be seen complaining to the fourth official about the penalty, insisting that it shouldn’t have been given.
Mbappe saw his afternoon go from bad to worse, with Spain taking a 2-0 lead in the second half.
