HEARTBREAKING: Strictly host Johannes Radebe makes dancing announcement after fan questions

Strictly Come Dancing star Johannes Radebe

Johannes Radebe has finally addressed the question many Strictly fans have been asking ever since his surprise promotion on the BBC dance show.

After being unveiled as one of the new hosts of Strictly Come Dancing earlier this month, speculation quickly grew over whether the popular professional dancer was preparing to step away from performing altogether. Now, Johannes has delivered a clear answer and it’s one his supporters will be pleased to hear.

Far from hanging up his dancing shoes, the 39-year-old has announced a major new live tour that will see him performing across the UK and Ireland throughout 2027.

The announcement comes during a period of huge change for Strictly. Johannes is set to join Emma Willis and Josh Widdicombe as the programme’s new presenting team after long-serving hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman bowed out following the 2025 series.

His appointment raised eyebrows because it arrived shortly after he was confirmed as part of the professional dancer line-up for the upcoming season, leaving many viewers wondering how he would balance both roles and whether his days on the dance floor were coming to an end.

Johannes has now put those concerns to rest.

Speaking about his newly announced show, Johannes Radebe: Finally Home, he insisted he is only just getting started. The dancer said people have repeatedly asked whether he plans to stop performing, before promising audiences plenty of joy, celebration and dancing when he takes the production on the road.

The tour will showcase a mix of ballroom favourites, South African-inspired performances and popular music, reflecting the styles that have helped make Johannes one of Strictly’s most beloved stars.

The announcement marks another major milestone in a career that has continued to go from strength to strength. In recent years, Johannes has become one of the standout personalities on Strictly and also made his West End debut starring as Lola in the hit musical Kinky Boots.

Fans will have plenty of opportunities to see him live. The tour begins in High Wycombe on April 1, 2027, before travelling across the UK and Ireland, including stops in Manchester, Blackpool, Oxford, Glasgow, Belfast, Dublin and Swansea.

A special gala performance is also scheduled at the London Palladium on May 9, with the tour eventually concluding after two nights in Plymouth before a final show in Cardiff on June 13.

While questions remain about exactly how Johannes’ role on Strictly will evolve under the show’s new format, one thing is now clear: his future still very much includes dancing.
