Kelvin Fletcher sparked concern as he issued and “end of an era” message from his Cheshire farm. Back in 2020, the 42-year-old actor and his doting wife, Liz, purchased a 120-acre farm in the Peak District. Fans soon fell in love with the place as the couple documented the transformation on the ITV show, Fletcher’s Family Farm.
The family frequently shares the highs and lows of farming life, most recently during their final episode of the ITV show, in which they announced the sudden and unexpected death of their beloved cow, Ruby. On Wednesday (July 22), the former Emmerdale star took to Instagram to share some worrying news with their loyal legion of fans in a cryptic message.

Sharing a snap of Liz standing in front of their family tractor, he captioned the post: “End of an era. Bye bye to this today [crying emoji]. Upgrade pending…” He followed up the post 40 minutes later with a snap of his tractor driving out of his barn, which he captioned: “Of course I meant the tractor [cry-laughing emoji].”
It comes after TV executives announced that it had commissioned two further series back in June. The Fletchers posted a clip on Instagram, featuring their daughter Marnie breaking the news to their adoring fans. The nine-year-old was filmed calling out enthusiastically to her dad, who was occupied feeding the sheep. She screamed, “I’ve got some news!” while her father continued to work tirelessly in the field.
The youngster then attempted to tell her little brother Milo, who was riding his toy bike, before calling out to her mum Liz and twin brothers Mateusz and Maximus, who are four. “What did she say?” they asked one another, before Marnie declared: “Guys, The Fletchers are back. Series five and six, let’s go!”
It didn’t take long before viewers flocked to the comments section to pass on their celebratory messages online. One user penned: “Love this!”, while another wrote: “Absolutely love this show, always lifts me up, such a lovely family.”

A third described the programme as “one of the best things on TV”, as a fourth echoed: “Excellent news. Fletchers are BACK, let’s gooooooooooo.” Kelvin, who is best known for his portrayal of Andy Sugden in ITV’s Emmerdale, first chronicled his agricultural journey in Kelvin’s Big Farming Adventure, before he and Liz went on to front Fletchers’ Family Farm together.
The series has proven a resounding hit with audiences keen to follow the family’s escapades on their 120-acre farm, with four series now having aired. Upon confirmation of the two new series, Kelvin and Liz commented: “We’re delighted to be returning for series five and six. What started as a simple desire to share our family’s journey has grown into something far bigger than we ever imagined.”
